Shepard Regional Centre is a 1,300,000 ft2 retail development that was planned for and built from the ground up by SDC; the 180 acres of land were all originally owned and zoned by SDC.
SDC began planning Shepard Regional Centre in 1988, broke ground on construction in 1996 and completed the final parcel of land in 2015.
The development is located at the intersection of 130th Avenue south east and Deerfoot Trail, surrounded by the affluent communities of McKenzie Lake, Douglasdale, Cranston and others.
Shepard Regional Centre features a variety of Big Box retailers including The Real Canadian Superstore, Home Depot, Canadian Tire, Indigo and Home Outfitters. The development also includes a variety of restaurants, banks and retail stores in both stand-alone buildings and multi-unit complexes.
