SDC planned and delivered an 80,000 ft2 office and shop facility for CANA Group in 2013.
The building site, located off 58th Avenue south east, has been owned by the Shepard shareholder group for more than four decades. This development marked Shepard’s move into the suburban office building market in Calgary.
The building features a 60,000 ft2 office with a single story underground parkade, as well as an adjoining 20,000 ft2 warehouse and yard to store equipment and materials. The four-story building features offices for up to 300, as well a main lobby and café on the first floor. The main floor features an additional 10,000 ft2 of space, which is currently being leased by Canada Mortgage Direct and Helcim. The second floor of the building features a spacious fitness area, as well as a large training room for presentations. The warehouse, or CANA’s “Shop”, serves as a maintenance facility for CANA fleet and equipment. The Shop is equipped to undertake vehicle inspections, has a large warehouse component and is the location of the loading dock and receiving area.
Shepard worked in a collaborative effort with the consultant and construction teams to deliver a premier office facility ahead of schedule.
